Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo has moved to help residents in the fight against coronavirus by donating across all eight constituencies over 500 water tanks.

Her tanks have the capacity to hold 250 liters of water, coming complete with soaps.

Odhiambos office team lead by county coordinator Chacha Ogweno used sub-county commissioners, chiefs and their assistants to distribute the twe tanks through all 40 wards in the county.

“We need to fight the virus by having high standards of hygiene and washing our hands by running water, i chose to bring in tanks as most public points lack running water,” Odhiambo said.

She said it was positive as Migori residents, elites and leaders have closed ranks to fight the virus.

“We mapped out most vulnerable areas like boda boda stages, centers, beaches along Lake Victoria and bus parks to launch the water tanks and soaps,” Odhiambo said.

She added that most police stations have been ignored in giving water points, which was also factored in by her team.

“We have worked closely with most opinion leaders to come together and avail tanks for all members of the public, by communally adding water,” she said.

She said her office was in line to also give out sanitizers and face masks which will be distributed soon.

Ogweno said, residents were positive by the gesture by NGAAF and they have mapped out more areas for help in the future.
