Residents of Oyani village in Uriri sub-county were left in shock after the body of a 45 year old was found dangling on a rope at a home he had gone visiting.

The deceased who was identified as Kidigwa Kerote was found Wednesday morning after committing suicide at the home of his sister in law leaving the family in a state of confusion.
Kerote’s reason for committing suicide could not be immediately established as he left behind no suicide note.

The man who had gone visiting his in law’s home is however said to have been having long standing marital differences with his wife since October last year.

Speaking to the press, the wife to the deceased Grace Juma said she suspected his husband committed suicide because of their endless wrangles.

“We have been having a rough time together which forced me to move out of our marital home and came to rent a house at Oyani centre,” Grace said.

Grace said that she was with her late husband who hails from Kasaronye Village in Oyani location the previous evening and he showed no signs of distress.

“We had made a great step in resolving our differences and his death has really shocked me,” Grace mourned.

Filgona Akinyi, the sister to Grace, also said she was shocked at the death of her brother in law and wondered why he chose to die at her home.

“Kidigwa has been a frequent visitor to this home and were haven’t had any differences that I know of. I am still in disbelief,” Akinyi said.

The body of the deceased is preserved at Migori county referral hospital.
