Awendo police has nabbed over 2,000 liters of illicit brew in a crackdown.

About 20 liters of changaa and 2,000 liters of Kangara was destroyed in a raid across Awendo sub-county conducted by OCS Awendo, Purity Kobia.

Kobia said that the crackdown is aimed at controlling the ballooning illicit brew in the area.

She said the illicit brew was abandoned in sugarcane plantation as brewers and drinkers fled when police on patrol arrived.

Police has information about the owners and have launched a manhunt for them, calling on the public to help them arrest the culprits.
