Migori governor Okoth Obado still has his political base intact to decide the next governor to take over from him when his term ends in 2022, an aide has aid.

Obado’s director of political affairs Denis Orero told Migori News that the governor still has Migori at heart and political interests even when his term ends.

He said even President Uhuru Kenyatta who will go home after his term ends still stands a chance to decide the next country base.

“That is the same way with Obado, his popularity with voters and grassroot support base is still intact,” Orero said.

He said already several governor aspirants have privately and publicly tried to seek Obado’s hand ahead of polls.

“He still have interest of Migori politics for the future,” he said.

“Even nationally president Uhuru Kenyatta moves and speech create great interest on who he will support, Obado still enjoys support in Migori and his grass root campaign network is still intact,” Orero added.

But Obado in a public function in Rongo said he will never endorse any candidate on people who should decide their leaders.
