Migori governor Okoth Obado has been accused for stoking up clan rivalry before picking up his Deputy Governor Mwita Mahanga after winning the ODM ticket for August 8 polls.

Kuria East politician Tyson Kemege who vied in the last ODM primaries for area MP seat and is now the Deputy Governor for Independent candidate Sammy Ogallo has told off Obado.

“No person cheats the Kuria people in totality and survives our wrath let alone out curse. Obado told us of picking Magige from Abagumbe as his running mate, then Rebbeca Maroa from Abakira and Maginga Chacha from Abanyabasi only for him to elope with Mahanga,” he posted on social media.

Kemege and Mahanga share the same Abairege clan.

“You cheat people like this – adults – make them slaughter cows, print posters with them as running mates only for you to dump and flush them like used toilet paper ,” Kemege said.

He said Obado ensured business people from Kuria area he called “tenderpreneures” especially from
Isibania were paid a few weeks to nomination so as to win their support.

He told them to “eat slowly without making so much noise,” as other are yet to be paid and have auctioneers on their necks over bank loans.

He said garbage collection in Kuria area major towns like Kehancha, Isebania and Kegonga have been below par despite the county inheriting former Kehancha Municipal Council infrastructure like tippers.

“(Obado) ataona tarehe 8. Aliona Kura za wa Kuria ni Kura za wajinga,” Kemege said.
