Migori governor Okoth Obado has retained his seat as the chair of Council of Governors Agriculture committee.
Obado held the position in the last council which he will again hold in his second term after governors retreat in Kwale county.
Obado will be among the 18 committee members as stipulated under to section 20 (3) of the Intergovernmental Relations Act 2012.

Ahead of the meeting, there was heavy lobbying for the seat of CoG with Kwale governor Salim Mvurya of Jubilee Party who hosted the retreat seeking to unseat Nanok, who is Deputy Party leader of ODM.
Mvurya will take over from Nanok in six months time, while Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru is the vice chair.
The council Chief Whip will be governor Mohammed Ali of Marsabit.
