Uriri MP Mark Nyamita has pulled the first one in entire Nyanza region by donating five sanitizing booths to fight Covid-19 in his constituency.

Nyamita who was in Nairobi when the booths were distributed by his team on the ground, told Migori News over the phone that they will be placed in high traffic areas as they come with full body and baggage spray, and thermometers to check temperature.

“We have picked the high traffic area for the booths to control those accessing transport and markets to get treated en mass, it is a simple walk through system that will be managed by centers leaders,” she said.

He said they also distributed 10,000 face masks, and several bottles of sanitisers on top of hand washing points.

“Migori county is a hotspot area, we are happy the booths will help control spread of the virus,” he said.

William Mbeche, constituency coordinator who oversaw the distribution said most travellers in public places and those accessing centers will be key.

Annet Atieno, a resident said the booths will help sanitise travellers along the busy Migori-Kisii highway and large baggage.

“We are now able to sanitise not only our hands, but also items and goods we buy and are brought from outside the area like Tanzania and Nairobi which are hot zone area,” he said.
