Nyatike MP Edick Anyanga is bracing up for a third term with four candidates aliened for the ODM party primaries.

Anyanga will face Tom Odege, a trade union leader in what will be memory of the 2013 contested shambolic primaries where at one time both candidates were issued with certificates in process that was disrupted with ballot boxes and papers being destroyed.

Others in the nomination race include Jully Owino, Odiso Ogenga and Saka Ratteng.

Already opinion leaders in Nyatike led by Nyatike Professional Forum have challenged the party to offer free and fair nominations and leaders to avoid taking sides.

“We don’t want to face the same problem like last polls when officials in ODM gave out three or four aspirants with certificates in the same post,” Nyadimo said.

Anyanga, banks on his ability to include minority clans and sub-clans in the constituency and financial might to campaign in the expansive constituency to win.

On the other hand his rivals are seeking support from leaders outside the constituency with an interest for outcome to push through their agenda.
The winner of the primary will face Olima Bonyo who will vie for Ford Kenya ticket.

In last polls, Odege never made it to the ballot in a win that Anyanga easily got after getting more than 12,000 votes to his nearest rivals Obonyo and Otieno Ogolla of Wiper.

Ogolla will vie for senate in 2017.
