The Migori Matatu Sacco has requested a vehicle impounded for transporting nine passengers who came from Nairobi released.
The Matatu which was from Kisumu, had picked the travelers who phone record tracking showed they had travelled from Nairobi to Kitele, and were headed to Migori.
The Sacco’s chairman Samuel Doe, said the driver and conductor, together with nine travelers were seized around Ranen center on May 4, 2020.
“We confirm the vehicle, registration number KCS 122S belongs to us. The driver and conductor picked the passengers from Kisumu and they was the 7pm curfew delay which saw them take a break at Ranen,” Doe said.
He said there was an accident.
He said the group was picked, but the vehicle is yet to be released.
“We are wondering if the vehicle is also Covid19 positive and why it should continue to be held in the station,” Isaiah Majwek, a Sacco official said.
“The vehicle is servicing a loan, we want it released as the owner is undergoing depression” he said.
