Three primary schools in Migori County have received a total of 473 tablets for pupils and six laptops for their instructors in Jubilee government’s pilot “Laptop” project.

The ceremony was presided over by Migori County Director of Education Beatrice Asiago, who saw Gwitembe primary school in Kuria East Sub County, Migori in Suna West and Kanga in Rongo got 111, 232 and 130 tablets respectively.

Asiago said other schools and parents should embrace digital learning.

“I urge the school management and particularly the instructors to ensure our pupils learn what they must learn while avoiding unnecessary content,” Asiago advised.

She urged the Teachers Service Commission TSC to train more teachers so that the programme rolls to other classes with ease in subsequent phases.

Migori Primary deputy head teacher Seline Ochieng’ said TSC through Moi University has trained four teachers to take our pupils through this programme.
