Governor Obado to fire non performing Ministers

County Executive Committee Members were yesterday sworn in yesterday in an event presided over by Migori governor Okoth Obado and Deputy governor Mahanga Mwita.

Nine Ministers were sworn in to mark a new journey to propel the county’s agenda to all parts of the 8 sub- counties.

The CEC members are drawn from the eight sub counties of the larger Migori County with Awendo Sub County being given two slots as was in the previous first five years.

Migori County Governor Okoth Obado in his speech reaffirmed his commitment to service delivery to all the people Migori County and wants the ministers to help him propel his development agenda for the next five years.

The members sworn in include Kepher Nyamita of Environment and Disaster management, Iscar Oluoch of Health Services, Rebecca Gati of Water and Energy, Moses Chamwada of Public Works, Roads and Transport,Samson Maginga Ng’ariba for Education, Culture, Sports, Gender and Social Services, Scholarstica Atieno of Finance and Economic Development, Valentine Ogongo of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

The others are Elijah Odhiambo of Lands, Housing and Urban Development and Elizabeth Ochaye of Trade, Tourism and Cooperative Development.

The other County Executive Committee member Sheila Gati of Public Service and Administration was not sworn in but will resume her duties on interim basis until the County Assembly finalizes her vetting that the Assembly feels was not well done.

Obado said the ministers were on a two year probation and only those who will have performed well will have their contracts renewed.
