MCA Osawa urges Obado to fire non-performing ministers

Member of county assembly (MCA) for South Sakwa Awendo sub-county has called on Migori governor Zacahary Obado to fire non performing county officers as they were derailing development.

Speaking during the state of the county address in Migori town, Jared Osawa said the officers who were not delivering to the expectation of the people were tainting the name of the county.

Osawa said some county officials expressed laxity in handling projects mandated to them thus tainting the name of the governor as a non-performer.

“SOME projects are taking long to complete while some are done shoddily contrary to the expectation and the money channeled to the projects,” Osawa decried.

The MCA also accused county officials of taking too long to implement policies they had long passed to aid in carrying out salient development to residents of Migori County.

“As the legislative wing of the county, we do our part in passing policies and bills to enforce the carrying out of various development projects for the benefit of the common man, but the officers supposed to ensure what we passed was implemented were failing this county to realize the warranted progress,” Osawa possed.

The county legislator urged governor Obado to detach himself from those who don’t have the plight of residents at heart if he had the vision of leading this county for another term.

The South Sakwa Ward representative blamed some county officials of deliberately not paying contractors, derailing development of the county.

The governor however turned the heat back on contractors saying they were the cause of their own problems.

Obado said some contractors took more than they can handle and thereafter blaming the county government for their woes. He also blamed some contractors of doing substandard jobs.

“I have realized some contractors are taking more than one job which in turn they are unable to handle, the end result is legislators and county residents blaming the county government of underperforming,” Obado said.

He however said that the government was underfunding counties thus some policies took long to implement.
Obado said he will hold a meeting with contractors to iron out their issues.
