Angry Mabera residents in Kuria West sub-county lynched a suspected chicken thief last Friday.

The suspect only identified as Ambasi was found by two women heading to the rive at 6am with two stolen chicken.

A mob which arrived at the scene after the two raised an alarm forced the deceased to eat a live chicken before killing him.

A witness Rose Marwa said the deceased was a perennial thief who recently stole from a church.

His body was taken to Migori Level Four referral hospital by police.
