In a huge turn back, Nyatike MP Edick Anyanga has defended governor Okoth Obado and said politician calling for the governor to step aside are selfish.

He said politicians should give investigations a chance and avoid insulting, witch-hunting and using every function to polarise Migori by attacking Obado after he was named by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in corruption of Sh600million through procurement.

“Ever since the list came out, selfish politician have been relentlessly attacking the governor which will take us back from development path. They should give Obado a chance and wait for investigations,” he said.

He insisted all leadership should be criticised but warned those insulting Obado in public as selfish politicians with a dark past.

“Let us allow for investigations as even the report has its flaws with simplest being lack of some pages,” he said.
He called on all leaders to work on fulfilling their campaign pledges and wait for 2017 before they begin to start politics.

“Let us collectively serve Migori county residents to bring development by giving elected leaders chance to work,” he insisted.

Anyanga, Migori MPs Junet Mohammed (Suna East) and Mathias Robi (Kuria West) are among members of PAC committee which also featured in the EACC list.

The team was cleared by Powers and Privileges Committee which throw out a tape by Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba and PAC chair which made it feature in the list.
