Police in Kuria West sub-county have launched a major manhunt for a man who slaughtered like a goat his lover over Sh26,000 loan from Kenya Women Finance Trust.

Samuel Rioba from Gekoharaka center has fled after chopping off Miriam Muhiri’s head at the neck on Tuesday night after the two quarreled on how they should use the money.

“Their problem started after they secured the loan from KWFT and we are saddened by this death,” Francis Machegera told Migori News.

Machegera said Samuel started attacking his lover, who is a widow with a panga and followed her to a nearby bush where she had fled and hacked off her head.

Area chief Samuel Chacha said the deceased’s husband died in a mob lynch after being accused of stealing tobacco.

“The deceased body has been taken to Pastor Machage hospital mortuary as police have launched a manhunt for the suspect,” he said.
