An alarm has been raised over the misuse of Kakrao Market at Kakrao Center in Suna East.

A section of residents have turned the market structure to place where they have been openly defecating.

The market now oozes of a bad smell that passers by don’t fail to notice.

The market is littered with poop, dry and fresh, in equal measure with some culprits not sparing the small storage units under the stalls.

According to some residents, the market was completed around years ago and has been lying idle since then, forcing some residents to turn it to an ablution block.

They have asked the County Government to finalize the market’s construction and open it up for residents to sell their wares.

Area MCA George Owiti intimated that the contractor at the site has not been paid.

He promised to follow up the matter.
