Jubilee ‘spending tutors’ pay’ on prayer rallies, Ugunja MP says

ODM political affairs secretary Opiyo Wandayi has said Jubilee is using teachers’ money to finance the ICC prayer rallies.

“The unpaid teachers’ salaries for the month of September have been used to bankroll the prayer rallies for the two suspects,” the Ugunja MP said.

“Jubilee MPs are paid teachers’ salaries to attend those baseless ICC prayer rallies.” Leaders, mostly allied to JAP, have been organising prayer rallies for Deputy President William Ruto and journalist Joshua Sang.

They are accused of crimes against humanity.

Wandayi said the government has been luring MPs to the rallies to give an impression of unity. He addressed the public at Uriri market on Sunday, where he was hosted by MP John Kobado.

Wandayi toured CDF development projects. He said the current lack of money shows Jubilee is running a failed government.

Kobado proposed the presidential age to be pushed to 65. President Uhuru Kenyatta turned 54 yesterday.

“The age should be raised to offer maturity in leadership of the country and bring experience and competence and policy in administration,” he said.

The legislator said the runaway corruption is caused by inexperienced leaders. “A country where a bar of soap is bought for Sh37,000 shows inexperience in administration.”
