Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo has hinted that the existing image of Migori governor race risk hurting the party.

Odhiambo said, without directly linking any individual, that there is an existing image that the ODM governor ticket is already done and dusted.

Senator Ochillo Ayacko and Odhiambo are in the race for governor as Okoth Obado seeks to retire in 2022 general elections.

“We have an equal stake in the Orange Party, and I will walk closely with my bosses both nationally and at grassroot, this stake will not be taken away by rumours,” Odhiambo said.

Ayacko, even though he has not directly talk of the party primaries is seen as a front runners, and his supporters have pushed the agenda strongly.

“Nobody is walking with the ODM ticket in their back pocket, we will stand for the party and ensure Raila Odinga is sworn as the fifth president of the republic,” she said.

Her sentiment was shared by William Odhil, a county ODM vice-chair and Nyatike constituency party official.

“It is sad that these rumours of the governor nomination ticket already being given is from the headquarters while we toil in grassroot,” Odhil said.

He said apart from Ayacko and Odhiambo, there are several other aspirants who would wish vie for governor seat and other seats and they should be given opportunity.

“We have other parties like UDA and PDP which are seking to capitalise on nomination fallout within our party, we want any nomination to appear free and fair,” Odhil said.

The two were speaking at Nyandema center in Nyatike constituency when they met with ODM leaders and delegates.
