Kuria East MP Marwa Kitayama’s wife Mary has seen frustrated following the chaos that rocked governor Okoth Obado’s function in Kegonga last week.

Mrs.Kitayama works in Migori County government as the Sub County Administrator for Kuria East, which coincidentally is the constituency her husband represents.

”My wife has been dragged into this and she is now being targeted at the county government for allegedly being responsible for the heckling of the governor in Kuria East. Unknown people have been going to her office several times to eject her,” Kitayama told the press.

The legislator has already recorded a statement with police criminal investigations headquarters in Kiambu and a blogger is being trailed as a key suspect.

Kitayama and Obado has seen their already tense political relations flare up following a Sh516million World Bank project to upgrade towns.

Chaos rocked Obado’s functions when he went to open up the newly built Kuria East Sub County offices and they openly clashed.

During the Kegonga event, which was hosted by Mrs. Kitayama,  one of the local artists she had invited to entertain the guests criticised the governor for excluding Kuria region from WB project.

Obado’s officials accused her of planning the attack which told the governor in a poem that Kuria residents were no longer happy with him.

The governor was heckled by irate residents–who were armed with all manner of weapons– when he defended the move to select the three towns to benefit from the project.

He was forced to cut short his speech and leave in a huff.

On Monday, the administrator was summoned by the County secretary Christopher Rusanna over the Kegonga debacle.

Rusanna however said his meeting with Mrs. Kitayama was a routine meeting.

“Yes I met the lady as it is a routine for me to meet county officials on work related matters,” said Rusanna.

Bit two days later on On Wednesday, Mrs. Kitayama received a letter of redeployment from Kuria East Sub County to the headquarters at Migori town.

The letter was later controversially revoked.

Nicholas Anyuor, Governor Obado’s press director, denied claims that the governor is using his cronies to threaten the MP.

“The governor has no issues with MP Kitayama or his wife. Let people not peddle lies for their own interests,” Anyuor said.
