Migori county residents have been advised to utilise different government projects in their areas.

Speaking while opening the new Paediatric ward in Migori county referral hospital, Migori county first lady said the county government has improved most of the areas and the locals needs to utilise such projects.

However Mrs Obado advised the locals to register and acquire the National Hospital Trust Fund (NHIF) that will give them easy time even when admitted in any hospital within the country.

“Our county government started from a scratch without even proper office structures and at this moment I can say they have made a mile and that is the difference we want to see”, she said.

Migori county health department was recently ranked as the best performing sectors in the country and Mrs Obado advised the county government to work hard and retain the place.

Mrs Obado also assured the locals of the mobile clinic in the health sector citing that it will be brought soon in the county and will improve the health department.

“With this improvement in the health sector in our county, we have attracted many donors and well-wishers who want to be associated with us, soon we will receive our mobile clinic and it will be a boost”. She added.

She appealed to the people to be accepting donations from different donors regardless from the areas they come from.

“Everyone wants development but this can only be done in a peaceful environment and I will request our people to be welcoming all the well wishers and donors to help improve the status of our county”. She said.

The new children ward opened today will accommodate over 100 patients and is built at a total cost of Sh. 18 Million will help decongest the children’s ward.

County executive in charge of Health Elijah Odhiambo said the county government will do all it can to continue improving the sector.

Mrs Obado donated clothing, detergents, and beddings among other baby care materials to the new born babies in the facility.
