Migori county first lady Helen Obado received three tuk-tuk ambulances and equipment to fight jiggers at a Friday ceremony.

The items were donated by three foundation at Angugo Primary School in Nyatike Subcounty on Friday.

The items were donated by three foundations: Ahadi Trust Kenya, Lotto Kenya Foundation and Beyond Zero Campaign by First Lady Margret Kenyatta.

The ceremony, which included free medical camp by county government was at Angugo Primary School in Nyatike Sub county.

Obado lauded the effort by first lady which she said showed she was out to help “to end tribalism and help citizens without seeking any favour in return.”

She said the ambulance donation will go to work on remote places and compliment the Beyond Zero Campaign mobile van donated by the first lady.

“The ambulances will go ahead to help people irrespective of their tribes or political affiliation which shows the kind heart of our first lady,” she said.

Other donations included 5,000 shies, 5,000 slipers, 200 basins several solar lamps and bedding.

Stanley Kamau, the Ahadi Kenya Trust Chief Officer said the three ambulances will offer services to women giving birth,

The two said that jigger attack was not caused by witchcraft, but poor hygienic condition.
