Ugly politics reared its head at a funeral in Migori county on Sunday as two elected leaders physically assaulted each other over State House visit by opposition leaders.

Uriri MP Mark Nyamita and Migori senator Eddy Oketch wrestled a microphone from each other before they wrestle off a podium sparking off wave of fighting from mourners and supporters.

The leaders, among them Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko and several MCAs had attended the funeral of Mzee Opiyo Osewe at Magongo village in Uriri constituency.

Politics of Nyanza Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders meeting with President William Ruto in State House took center stage among leaders including early campaigns for 2027 governor post.

Trouble started when immediate former Uriri MP John Kobado, who is Lands and Urban Planning executive rose to speak and castigated leaders who went to State House, including Nyamita.
