Migori Deputy Governor Dr. Joseph Mahiri Gimunta has rolled the establishment of Kuria Dons Association to help spur development in Migori through research and donor mobilisation.

Mahiri said as a don in social sciences and governor Ochillo Ayacko being a don in law, the county was being led by scholars who will seek to bring other like minded individuals on board to aid in development.

“We are keen to involve dons and university lecturers in development agendas of our community, after formation of this association we will hold a development conference later this year to give impact on research done to aid the county,” Mahiri said.

Professor George Chacha, the Vice Chancellor at Maasai Mara University said when development partners take into account research and push to implement them especially in agriculture and health sectors then it is citizens who benefit.
