Homa Bay Diocese Bishop Philip Anyola has called on Cord leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta have a dialogue over the contentious elections laws.

Anyolo said statements by supporters of two have created anxiety among Kenyans who fear for bloody polls ahead of next polls.

The bishop has however called on the leaders to push for formation of a mediation committee rather than mass action and surpass something approved in a chaotic manner adding that it must be done in good will and in line with the constitution.

Speaking during the annual thanks giving ceremony for churches under Homa-Bay diocese held at Kitere in Rongo,Migori county yesterday, the Bishop challenged the leaders to observe sobriety at all times saying that whenever they overstep their agreement and debate over issues touching Kenyan society they must know that it is not their debate but for the people and must come back together and find a solution for the benefits of their electorates and Kenyans as a whole.

He strongly condemned the chaotic incident that was witnessed in the national assembly last week during the debate for the amendments of the electoral laws saying that it will never offer any spiritual gift to Kenyans but instead make the already delicate situation worse and again take this country back to the memories of the 2007-2008 post election violence.

“We must understand that we are going to elections next year and we want victory through a fair and a transparent manner. I can see what happened in parliament is a recipe of what is coming ahead of us and we must all step up to ensure it is solved in a amicable way for this our wonderful country,” said Anyolo.

He has at the same time urged the Kenyan people to ensure they elect visionary leaders who are ready to salvage them from poverty, ignorance and the economic inequality that is being witnessed currently through mind full of young energetic and talented group as well as provide ideas that would transform this country economically.

He has called on the clergy to pray for peace and tranquility in the nation and a part from offering spiritual nourishment they have a task of engaging various leaders into dialogue at all times providing ideas that would create conducive environment for the country’s economic growth.
