Awendo Politics: Walter Sirawa counters Kopiyo’s defection with hosting top ODM officials

Awendo politics has heat up with Walter Owino Sirawa countering the recent defection of area MP Jared Kopiyo by hosting top party delegations on Saturday at Ombasa Secondary School.

Sirawa, commonly called Awol WuodAwendo, brought a full which included Orange Democratic Movement chairman and Suba MP John Mbadi, ODM director of political affairs Opiyo Wandayi and Director of Communication and Migori County MP Dennitah Ghati.

Others included Homa Bay county MP and area ODM chair Gladys Wanga.

“I am a senior legislator and chairman of the second most popular party after ANC in Africa and for Awol to have me here it shows he has high networking skills,” Mbadi said.

Sentiments which was shared by Wandayi, Wanga and several MCAs from both Homa Bay and Migori counties.

“In all party functions Awol has been helping us and representing Awendo well, and I love those who love ODM party,”Wandayi said.

They said Awol has also been helping them in harambees in their backyard which has seen them reciprocate the favour.

The soft spoken Sirawa said in last polls he lost to Kopiyo on Ford Kenya ticket and will ensure he retains the seat in the orange party.

“We have started a people centered campaigns that will capitalise in what is missing in Awendo leadership and push through to win the ballot,” he said.

Sirawa he was ready to represent the constituency in the national politics come 2017.
