Rongo MP Paul Abuor will be the first legislator in the larger Nyanza region to organise an annual public participation forum just to cover on his performance in office.

With only eight months after being elected, Abuor said he will organise the public participation forum to gauge his performance directly from his voters.

The move he said was part of his election manifesto and campaign pledge as Rongo residents complained of being left out by elected leaders who only stayed in Nairobi until election time.

“As I promised during my campaigns and as spelt out in my manifesto we are going to use each year as a milestone to measure my performance,” he said.

He added: “As the people’s servant, I invite honest opinions, advice and criticism this is the best way to develop the constituency.”

The event will be rolled for a week as from August 5 and will take place each year as he said there are voters “who believe I have met their expectations, we have those who believe otherwise. This will offer them a chance to gauge my performance.”

During the exercise honest opinion, advice and criticism will be accepted.
