A Tanzanian accosted by Bukumbiri village elders flees, leaving 15 rounds of ammunition

A Tanzanian accosted by a village elder from Bukumbiri village in Kuria West sub-county fled  back to his country leaving behind 15 rounds of ammunition.

The Tanzanian was carrying his cargo in a paper bag when the Nyumba Kumi elder noticed something was suspicious about him and inquired.

“When the elder approached him he was continuously uncomfortable before he started fleeing back to his country and dropped the back,” Kuria West police boss Cleti Kimaiyo said.

The bag had 15 rounds of ammunition of 7.62 × 51mm caliber.

“We are doing ballistic examination to ascertain if the ammunition have been behind a spate of violence in the area and we will arrest more suspects and their intended destination,” he said.

The ammunition recovered by police
