VACANCIES
Migori County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the County Government Act No.17 of 2012.

DIRECTOR, GENDER AND EQUALITY, JG “R”: ONE (1 POST) MCPSB / 105/2015

Reporting to the Chief Officer in charge of Gender and Equality, the Director, Gender and Equality is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of Gender and Equality Policies and Programs in Migori County.

(a) Duties and Responsibilities
1. Development and implementation of Gender and Equality policies and programs in the County;
2. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of gender and equality policies and programs in the County;
3. Promote gender equality and freedom from discrimination in the County;
4. Conduct and coordinate research activities on matter relating to Gender equality and freedom from discrimination;
5. Investigate any matter in respect of principles of equality and freedom from discrimination in the County;
6. To conduct audits on the status of special interest groups including minorities, marginalized groups, Persons With Disabilities (PWD’s), women, youth and children in the County;
7. Coordinate and facilitate main streaming of issues of gender, persons with disabilities (PWD’s) and other marginalized group in the County;
8. Coordinate and organize Public Education Programs on Principles of equality and freedom from discrimination in the County;
9. Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

1. Be a Kenyan citizen;
2. Be a holder of at least a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences or, Gender and Development from a university recognized in Kenya;
3. Master’s degree in development studies, gender/women studies, social studies is an added advantage;
4. At least five (5) years experience in a gender related environment at senior management level
5. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
(c) Terms of Service: Permanent /Contract

2. Hand delivered applications should be dropped at the offices of the Migori County Public Service Board located at Msomi Teachers’ College in Migori County.

3. All applications should reach the Chairman Migori County Public Service Board on or before Friday 21st August, 2015.
4. Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original Identity Cards, Academic and Professional Certificates and testimonials.
5. For candidates to meet the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, applicants must obtain the following clearance:
 Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA
 Clearance Certificate from HELB
 Clearance Certificate from Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (EACC)
 Certificate of Good Conduct from Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
