The Orange Democratic Movement has said it will not conduct a nomination exercise for the senate seat as had earlier advertised.
According to ODM, there will not be party primaries but its National Executive Committee Board (NEC) will pick the replacement for the late Ben Oluoch Okello.

This will be according to ODM’s Rule 18.2 which spells out the party’s election and nomination rules.
According to the party’s National Election Board (NEB) Secretary Dave Arunga, the NEC decision will be communicated by July 27.
This comes barely a week after individuals eyeing the seat from Kuria warned the party of handpicking a candidate.
Tyson Kemege, who vied as deputy governor in the last elections said the Raila should know that Migori is not like Homa Bay where an elective seat is inherited.
“Okello family trying to impose an heir should know that in Homa Bay the Kajwang’s had their way, in Migori Kuria will have their say in a loud and clear voice,” Kemege said.
Solomon Hodo and John Magaiwa, said since they were rigged out in last polls in ODM nominations they will seek other party tickets and ensure they are in ballot.
But Matiko Bohoko in an interview with Migori News wanted ODM to award him with a direct nomination due to his unquestionable loyalty to the party.
