Migori TTC champs in Lake Region drama festivals

Migori Teachers College emerged the best in this year’s Lake Region Colleges and Technical Training Institutes drama festivals held at Kamagambo Teachers College in Rongo sub-county.

The College showed their ‘Mighty’ slogan by scooping 9 trophies out of 13 trophies that were for grabs.
They got Cultural creative dance and the modern dance of ‘One more time’ song trophies.

Asumbi TTC’s play entitled ‘Discord in Accord’ which described how peace and unity is fostered after numerous uphill also won a trophy.

Migori never disappointed again after scooping the Narrative play trophy of ‘The Church Minister’ describing how the agents of faith go against the way and the will of God before again taking the Solo verse trophy.

Kenyenya TTC was named the best in the standup comedy.

The best Soloist Female trophy was scooped by Stela Mochere before Boaz Ochola taking the best soloist male both from Migori TTC.

Best continuity play went to Decor Owila with best choreographer trophy taken by Charles Ojweke both from Migori.

Mary Clair Indire who is also the principal of Migori TTC took the top honors in the competition after scooping the best Producer overall trophy.

Kisii Polytechnic however won the only trophy in the composed Solo verse ‘my master peace’ as Kisumu polytechnic won the Katumbo cultural dance.

Keroka Teachers College won the Maasai Cultural Dance.

“We give credit to all artists who came up with such compositions that foster peace and unity among Kenyans,” Mary Clair Indire who is the chair person of the Kenya Colleges Lake region games said.

She at the same time told the composers to avoid hate as well as introducing abusive utterances into their compositions that may turn the society against each other.

The winners will represent the lake region in National drama festival to be held in Meru Kaaga girls high school as from next week to early April this year
