We are deeply concerned, as Luo leaders and members of the Luo community, with a desperate secret plan by some leaders from within and outside our community to auction our community for their selfish gains
Women and youths are being paid about 300/= to leave their daily hustling and attend maandamanos whereas our bodaboda operatives are paid between 500/= and 700/=, depending on the number of hecklers you bring to the maandamano and cause mayhem.
These selfish leaders are aware that Luos have a soft spot for H.E. William Ruto because of what President Ruto and his community did to Hon. Raila and our community in 2007.
Aware of this fact, they have crafted an evil scheme to bring chaos, distractions and deaths to scare our people away from supporting the government. This, they believe, would give them a chance to transfer some or all our people’s loyalty and support to a third party.
We are aware that this demonic scheme was cooked by our elected members of parliament and is being funded by our governors.
We are also aware that there are two different conflicting groups within Azimio trying to auction our people.
The first group is being led and fully funded by a very senior citizen of this country, but who is not a member of our community. This group is pushing ODM top leadership to obey the secret MOU signed between the Azimio parties in 2022.
The second group is mainly elected leaders who feel they will not be able to retain their seats if Baba is not on the ballot. They insist that Baba must be on the ballot at whatever cost. This is the team that came up with the Luo cultural week in Homabay and is fully funded by our governors.
Unfortunately to our people, the two groups have agreed in principle that for now, they have to work together and disengage the Luos from president Ruto by all means.
It is in this determination that they have resolved to stain and tarnish the character of our two innocent and hardworking brothers CS Eliud Owalo and PS Raymond Omollo together with the group’s perceived enemies/competitors who work closely with the government.
Truth be told, Luos have had many CS or ministers in the past but had never had a CS who has devoted most of his time and resources to bring to our people any development however little he gets from the government than CS Elliud Owallo. Clearly, this is giving our MPs sleepless nights, with succession politics in their heads.
It is unbelievable and nauseating to imagine that our own elected leaders can plan together with outsiders to create confusion in our region, destroy properties, maim and even kill our people so as to keep their seats/political space in the future.
To our youths and all the members of our community, I beseech you in God’s name and in our fore father’s names, do not fall for this trap cropping laid by our selfish leaders.
Let our elected leaders shape their destiny through practical development but not hide behind Raila’s back for survival.
Jokanyanam, Let us give our full and unequivocal support to the president and his government, this is the safest bet to achieve our desires as opposed to where we are being transferred.
Lastly, my Luo brothers, sisters, aunties and uncles know that this sustained war is not Baba Raila’s war neither President Ruto’s war, this is our elected leaders’ war against your freedom to choose leaders of your choice, it’s a war against your future prosperity.
