Kuria West residents have lauded the new Kenya Medical Training College Kehancha branch for ending their quest for medical courses in Tanzania.

The college was launched by Deputy President William Ruto last September and Kuria West URP MP Mathias Robi with locals said their trips to colleges of Singida, Shirati and Mugumu in Tanzania are things of the past.

The college’s principal Samuel Cherotich said they already got 101 students in their second semester which is a good number with only two courses offered with most having “relocated their courses from Tanzania colleges.”

“We expect to completely have nil application in Tanzania by next year September when we wil offer more diploma courses,” Cherotich said.

Joseph Chacha, the Kuria West Constituency Manager who represented Hon Robi during an open day celebration said the CDF kitty will help construct three new classrooms with work set to start later this month.

“This will also go ahead in completion of the library project at a cost of Sh2million which we have already started in the area,” Chacha said.
