A 2022 presidential candidate has lauded the Kuria people for naming two bars after him.

Professor George Luchiri Wajackoyah has two pubs in Kehancha and Sirare towns, all in Kuria West constituency named after him.

“They have surprised me. They have opened two pubs in Sirare and Kehancha. I will visit should I be invited,” he said in a social media post.

The colourful and bearded politician captured the imagination of voters by wearing a durag, casual clothes during campaigns.

He also advocated for legalization of marijuana.
