Clement Ayungo the National Youth Council chairman has vowed not to resign from the Youth Enterprises Fund Board which has been embroiled in Sh180milion scandal.

Ayungo said last week when the board members appeared before Public Investment Committee they only agreed they were ready and “not willing” to step aside if need be.

Ayungo said two board members chairman Bruce Odhiambo and Catherine Namuye were the ones behind the loss of the money and not the entire board.

“They were the sole signatories of affected accounts so I will not resign as a board member as the signatories to affected accounts are well known and PIC should follow documents at their disposal,” he said.

He was speaking to Migori News at Sori town, Nyatike constituency on Sunday.

During the meeting members also accused former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru for ordering Sh44million payment to rebrand the fund. The process was never done even though Bruce Odhiambo informed them of Waiguru’s decision.

“We were all at the venue, ready for the rebranding event when the chairman said he had instructions from CS and above to pay (Sh44.74m),” Ayungo told PIC.
