Suna West MP Peter Masara has said government move to withdraw opposition leaders’ secusity ahead of maandamano was inconsequential.

He said he received a call from his security officers that they have been withdrawn to Nairobi, but was least worried about it.

“In most cases I don’t walk with security from government because they act as spies for government, mine was called to Nairobi but nothing has been communicated so far but I have God and Kenyans as my security,” he said.

He said giving leaders’ security was enshrined in law and plans by government to use it was scare tactic has fallen flat.

Masara said police officers should know that Kenyans on the streets are also fighting for their socio-economic rights and should respect them.
