Migori senator Eddy Oketch has said he is sure the Orange Democratic Movement party should expel legislators who went to State House on February 7.

Eddy said the team was given Sh50million to divide among themselves, claim which has already stocked political tension in the county.

Speaking at Mayienga FM morning show on Friday, the senator insisted the amount was paid to a prefect who was in charge and divided to others.

Those who went to State House were Kisumu senator Tom Ojienda, Lang’ata MP Felix ‘Jalang’o’ Odiwuor, Awendo MP Walter Owino, Rongo MP Paul Abuor, Uriri MP Mark Nyamita, Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo, Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda, Suba South MP Caroli Omondi and Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabir.

Out of the leaders only Shabir is an independent elected leader, with the rest from the ODM party.

“They took the money in State House to harass the ODM party and opposition in parliament and for personal agenda of those leaders ahead of next general elections, the meeting was not about development,” Oketch claimed.

Already, Oketch has written to the ODM party to have the legislators to be expelled excluding Awendo MP Walter Owino.

“He explained to ODM and Raila over the meeting,” Oketch said.

“No development was discussed during that meeting, I am ready to defend and give my evidence in the party disciplinary committee,” Oketch said.
