By Thursday morning at least 13 people were admitted at Migori Referral Hospital after being shot by police during three day maandamano called by police.

Earlier, demonstrators vacated Migori town streets with shops and schools in the town closed after word went around that ‘new’ police officers had been sent in the county.

But armed anti-riot police officers are said to have followed a group of youths inside Oruba estate in Migori town and started engaging them in residential areas.
