Unseating Rongo MP Abuor is inhumane, Kwanga laments: 10 harambees, 350 weekly calls

By MN Reporter

Rongo MP aspirant, advocate Thomas Kwanga Mboya took to social media to lament that his political bid is in-humane.

With two-and-half years to the next general elections, Kwanga has been rumoured to be among leaders who might replace the incumbent Paul Abuor.

But the advocate from Kanyimach area seams to be throwing in the towel.

“Ten fundraising invitation cards in one weekend besides 50 calls daily is not humanly,” he lamented on his Facebook profile.

The post elicited reactions with Rongo residents telling him his political dreams was way up if he wants to represent Rongo in the parliament.

Abuor link with the ODM party and leader Raila Odinga, including governor Ochillo Ayacko after deciding to break ranks and work government has seen many pundits to rubbish off Abuor.

In last visit on Rongo during the burial of former Migori ODM chairman Philip Makabong’o, event attended by Raila the incumbent missed it.

“Rongo is empty and it seems nobody wants this seat and there is no man enough to topple Abuor, I will ask ODM to give me the ticket so that I leave Nairobi to my home area,” Gaucho, a youth president joked then.

Kwanga was the first county legal advisor-cum-attorney when former governor Okoth Obado took office in 2013 after he unsuccessfully vied as Rongo MP.

He left shortly afterwards when he fell out with Ruto and concentrated in Nairobi legal space where he was in involved in Evans Kidero and Mike Sonko tenure as city governors.

He has frolicked in current holder Johnston Sakaja tenure, where he is believed to have made some stash which might be used for campaigns.

But in last elections, where Abuor sailed easily, the incumbent used to joke that his opponents were broke and “avoided Tuk pesa (playing with money) in campaigns.”
