Tanzanian fisherman commits suicide in Muhuru Bay

Police in Migori have launched investigations following sudden death of a fisherman with Tanzanian citizenship who is believed to have committed at Muhuru Bay in Migori County following a family feud with his wife.

Explaining the incident, Nyatike OCPD Dishon Chebaka said that the fisherman Isaya Otieno Siengo was found dangling from rope in his house by his colleague who went to found he was doing.

The police boss pointed out that the fisherman had family difference with his wife and upon coming home from hid daily chores he found the wife had eloped with house wares to unknown location.

“The fisherman must have taken away his life when he realized that his wife left with everything leaving him deprived of his assets and companionship,” said the officer.

The colleague finally reported the matter to the police who are now investigating into the matter.

The body of the deceased is at Migori Level 4 Hospital awaiting postmortem to help reveal the real cause of death.
