Obado calls on Migori MPs to support referendum drive

Migori governor Okoth Obado over the weekend requested Migori county Members of Parliament to help push for “Pesa Mashinani” campaign to help counties receive more allocation from the government.

Speaking during a fundraising ceremony at Ngege Got Kachacha Secondary school in Suna east Sub County, Obado said the county government has achieved a lot for the past two years with the little allocated funds.

“I believe we have done a lot in the past two years as compared to what the national government has done since independence and that can tell you where we are heading to in the next few years”. He said.

Recently different governors have complained of slow transfer of funds to their counties account hence stagnating the development in their counties.

Obado also requested the local leaders to support his government to help achieve more for the people of Migori County.

“We have heard problems with the little funds allocated and I will request our Mps to push for the more allocations to the county government to help in different development.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s wife Ida Odinga on her said it is through the counties that most of Kenyans will see the development of their areas.

“I am happy that Migori counties was recently ranked among the best counties in Kenya, this 2will be maintain if we work together as a unit for the people of this beautiful county,” she said.

She advised the locals to give their leaders time to work without politics and frequent blames all the time.

“Our leaders will feel better when you support them so if you give them your support they will represent you fully, all these people are our brothers, sons or even daughters,” she advised.

Over the weekend different leaders promised to support and work with the county government to help foster development just like other counties.

Nyatike Mp Edick Anyanga and his Uriri counterpart they are ready to work and support the county government under the leadership of Governor Okoth Obado.

“This is my county, I will be happy to see development projects launched to help the normal citizen and I have always said that I support the current leadership of the county,” Nyatike Mp Anyanga said.
