Parents of secondary school candidates in Migori have been forced to pay examination fees for practical papers despite government subsidy.

A spot by Migori News has revealed that at Kadika Girls, 20 candidates have been instructed to pay Sh1,000 each to facilitate the exams.

School’s principal Diana Akinyi said last week officers from Migori county education office visited the school to ascertain the sustainability of the practical and never committed anything on release of funds.

“We ask them to pay the money to facilitate easy doing of exams as government has failed to release funds per student as required,” she said.

She warned that science subjects like Biology, Physics and Chemistry will also have its practicals disrupted if government does not move with speed and release the fund.
