County executive Ating’a passes on

Migori County executive for Environment and Disaster Management Dr Eric Polycarp Ating’a passed on after succumbing to pneumonia complication at his home in Rongo constituency on Thursday night.

The death is a big blow to people living with disability in the county as he represented them in the assembly.

Before being appointed in the cabinet by Migori Governor Okoth Obado, Ating’a vied for Migori senate seat in the last by election on Ford Kenya ticket and lost to Dr Wilfred Machage.

He passed on only three days after being discharged from a hospital in Nairobi.

Migori governor aspirant said the death should give Migori county time to reflect on peace among leaders and residents.

“On behalf of my family and my own behalf I do send my condolences to the family, friends and relatives of the late Polycap Ating’a for the ultimate demise. May God grant you peace during this time of mourning,” she said in a statement send to press.

Migori chairman of Network in Disability and Community Development Bernard Ochuodho said that his untimely demise is a blow to the entire 130, 000 people living with disability in Migori as he articulated their plight succinctly.

Migori County Executive for Trade Maneno Mwikwabe described the late Ating’a as an industrious servant who was on a mission to transform Migori County in forestry coverage and fight against deforestation.

Before his demise Ating’a through Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) Launched a Sh6million forestry research Center in Migori.
