The political difference between Awendo Member of Parliament Jared Opiyo and Central Sakwa MCA Johnson Owiro has escalated with the two leaders exchanging accusations in public.

The two have had bitter relationships with each shifting blames over the management of Awendo constituency funds.

Owiro has been on record accusing Kopiyo for not equally sharing the CDF funds amongst the four wards within the constituency.

He claimed Sh9m was allocated to West Sakwa Ward where Kopiyo hails while Sh4m was allocated to Central Sakwa and Ksh 3M to North Sakwa ward.

But during a function in the constituency over the weekend, Kopiyo refuted the claims saying that the ward rep has personal grudge with him.

Kopiyo said the MCA’s claims only totaled to Sh13m which is way below to what was allocated.

He also faulted Owiro use of alleged misuse of Sh300m geared towards the development of the town before devolution came in place when he was the chairman of the Awendo town council.

Kopiyo urged the local leaders to desist from detrimental politics saying that most politics are likely to thwart the development of the constituency.
