Migori county governor aspirant in 2017/18 Anne Omodho Anyanga helped raise Sh7.7million towards building of girls’ hostels for Rongo University College.

Anyanga gave out a donation of Sh200,000 in an event organized by the Homa Bay Catholic Diocese.

She called on residents living around colleges to invest more on building hostels for students to boost college admission in Migori county.

Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti received Anyanga’s donation which was brought by nominated MCA Stella Ombonya (White jacket) and her PA Roy Kobwanga.

When completed the new hostels which will be build only a few meters from the college will house 900 girls by offering them secure lodging.

“Girls have often complained of insecurity when living in residential houses and the new hostels which will also have water and electricity will help them in boarding,” Anne said.

A total of Sh7.7million was raised today in a fundraiser organised by Homa Bay Catholic Diocess
