1. Field Technical Assistants (120 positions, 30 per county)

Job Description

Register all the farmers under his/her jurisdiction using a mobile App or manual method.
Map all the contracted farmers’ plots using a GPS or mobile App tool where provided. Be responsible for 100 acres.
Schedule all farm operations based on the specific crop calendar.
Supervise farm operations, including field preparations, ploughing, planting, weeding, fertilizer applications, spraying, harvesting & produce storage.
Monitor and document crop performance during the crop season.
Mobilize farmers for meetings and training.
Coordinate logistics from the input stores to the farmers’ fields.
Work with the farmer to maintain activity records as well as schedule of activities.
Coordinate logistics from farm to delivery points for drying and storage.
Assist in collecting data for crop modelling by the Field Agronomist as directed by the Field Agronomist or the Field Supervisor.
Report to the Field Supervisor administratively as well as on progress status including completion of each stage of operation.
Engage with the local community for harmonious co-existence.

Qualifications
Fresh Bachelor’s Degree graduate in Agriculture and Related subjects
Holder of a Diploma in Agriculture and related subjects with 1-year experience or
Holder of a Certificate in Agriculture and related subjects with 3 years’ experience

2. Field Supervisors (Production Supervisors) (4-positions, 1 per county)

Responsibilities

Responsible for 3 clusters each cluster with 1,000 acres that all totals to 3,000 acres.
Supervise farm operations directly under the charge of each of the FTAs within the 1,000 acres’ cluster
Coordinate the distribution of farm input using either mobile wallets, mobile phones or RFID technology
Coordinate the training for the FTAs
Coordinate the planning of each farm operation through the FTA with farmers, and where applicable with the mechanized units implementing the operation
Provide certification for each scheduled operation
Prepare reports on inspection/certification reports for their respective clusters to the agronomist
Administratively report to the Field Agronomist

Qualifications
Holder of a B.Sc. in agriculture and related subjects or
Holder of a Higher Diploma and 3 years’ experience
