Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko’s administration has banked on musician Akothee who hails from the county to market it to the world.
Akothee was first contacted to help shore up Ayacko’s administration image with a visit to the Migori Referral Hospital new born unit.
Later Ayacko’s wife Agnes contacted her as a speaker during her Kambi ya Wasichana event at Moi Nyabohanse Girls that brought young girls for days in a bid to fight FGM.
“This was escalated when Akothee was brought in to help secure Fly Skyward daily flights to Migori county which was a big success,” an insider said.
But it seems Ayacko is keen to scale the deal up after Akothee recently met with top county officials with picture of her talking and several executives and chief officers looking awed as they are taking notes.
Akothee met with officials from department of Culture and Gender, Trade and Tourism, and Special Program “to discuss ways of putting Migori County on the Kenyan Map as number one tourism destination.”
“I am not going crazy by saying I come from Migori County The land full of opportunities and diversity. This is my Home Migori County If you come from Migori December fomu ni hii,” Akothee posted in her social media pages shortly afterwards.
“There will be alot (sic) of activities fun moments and investment opportunities. We don’t have to own land in mombasa (sic) if you can’t afford it,, you can still enjoy the sandy beaches of Lake Victoria,” she said.
It seems her social media pages like Facebook which has over 2.7million followers will be active as he told her fans to “Stay out on this page for future development.”

- Renovation of ThimLich Ohinga UNESCO Cultural Site
- Putting up signage for Migori County tourist sites
- Senye beach in Muhuru Bay which will be center for a cultural festival
- Branding Skyward plain with a trademark of “ThimLich Ohinga”
- Gazettement of various tourist sites in Migori County including Mugabo caves, Chinato crying stone, Siabai Cultural site among others.
- Upgrading all cultural sites in the county among other things.
- Annual Migori County Cultural event and Governor’s Tournament.
