Obado visits 150 homesteads swept by floods in Nyatike

Migori governor Okoth Obado visited at least 150 homesteads swept away in Nyatike Sub County.

This comes as heavy rains continue pounding the region with most affected homes in Sagama Village, Central Kadem location were irrigation canals within the Lower Kuja Irrigation scheme are destroyed.

Obado urged all people living in the lower parts of Nyatike to move to higher grounds to avoid loss of life and properties.

He was accompanied by the county commissioner Joseph Ngetich at Ageng’a chief`s camp in North Kadem where 500 displaced people camping.

They donated food stuff, bedding and drugs.
