Asumbi Teachers College women soccer team have qualified for the national Teachers Colleges championships after thrashing Kamagambo TTC 1-0 in a stunning final encounters that was played at Kamagambo TTC grounds.

Thanks to Mercy Wayodi who was named the man of the match scored the all important goal in the 80th minute of play.

Asumbi qualified for the finals after supplanting Nyanchwa TTC 7-0 in the first semis before Kamagambo TTC beating St. Pauls Nyabururu TTC 2-0 in the second semis.

In basketball which was also concluded in the second day of the tourney, it was all Asumbi affairs who will be representing the lake region in the National tourney that will take place in Kericho TTC later this month with the Asumbi ladies trouncing Kamagambo by 160-5 baskets before Asumbi Men whipping Migori TTC 152-39 baskets.

Other matches played included soccer men where Nyandiwa beat St. Angelic 1-0 in the first quarter before Asumbi thumping St. Pauls 2-0 in the second quarter final.

The Teachers Colleges Lake region championships is scheduled to end today with other matches due throughout the day.
