Governor Ochillo picks Bohoko to Chair Kehancha Municipality

Veteran Journalist Matiko Bohoko has been elected to chair the newly formed Kehancha Municipality board.

Bohoko, a house hold name in Kuria and Migori county was unanimously elected by the board members during their first board meeting held at the Kehancha Municipality board room.

The members also elected Ann Otaigo Magoko, a career teacher and sports lady as the vice chair.

Bohoko is making his second appearance at the Kehancha municipality where he served as a public officer( special councillor) between 2003 and 2007.

He had been appointed by his close buddy , the then minister for Local government, the late Emmanuel Karisa Maitha.

Before the appointment by Maitha in 2003, Bohoko was the business editor, at the Royal media’s Radio Citizen and Television .

He walks into the Municipality business once again with an avalanche of experience in the media and peace building activities.

He worked as a peace monitor in Kuria between 2008 and 2012. He is also certified mediator.
