Rongo MP Paul Abuor has said the constituency bursary team has received over 5,000 applicants for this year.

Abuor said the vetting process for beneficiaries will be done in each polling center at ward level with North Kamagambo kicking off the exercise.

Speaking to Migori News on Saturday, Abuor said all deserving students especially those who received bursary at Siala Training Institute during former MP Dalmas Otieno will receive bursary if they deserve.

“Time for politics is over and I want to stop any rumours that the bursary kitty will not cater for those who received it in last regime. The funds if government money, not individual kitty,” Abuor said.

The legislator said the vetting process will done in open air public participation with residents picking the most deserving students.

“This way we will stop cases were connected applicants can get bursary across all ward, constituency and ward funds. It will also minimize corruption completely,” Abuor said.

He said the first exercise will kick off in North Kamagambo ward.

“Having transparent use of CDF and bursary was a key agenda in my campaigns which I will fulfill during my first term in office,” he said.
